Brother HL-L5100DNT Toner Replacement Guide
- Turn on your printer and allow it to cool down for about 10 minutes to avoid any risks from hot components.
- Gently open the front cover of the printer to access the drum unit and toner.
- Take out the drum unit assembly carefully to expose the toner cartridge.
- Push down on the green lock lever to release the old toner cartridge, then pull it out of the drum unit.
- Unpack the new toner cartridge from its packaging. Gently shake the cartridge side to side several times to evenly distribute the toner inside and remove the protective cover from the cartridge.
- Align the new cartridge with the drum unit and slide it in until you hear it click securely into place.
- Slide the green tab on the drum unit from one side to the other several times to clean the primary corona wire. Ensure the tab is returned to its original position when finished.
- Place the drum unit, now equipped with the new toner cartridge, back into the printer.
- Securely close the printer’s front cover to finish the process.
Brother HL-L5100DNT Toner Cartridges FAQs
Can I refill my Brother toner cartridge?
Yes, you can refill genuine Brother toner cartridges; however, it is not recommended since you have to replace some parts of the toner as well. If you think of refilling an empty toner cartridge, please consider the following pros and cons. The major advantage of refilling is cost-efficiency. It'll be a cheaper option than purchasing a new genuine one. On the other hand, refilled toner cartridges can have issues with print quality and durability. The toner consists of parts such as rolling gears, cleaning blades, etc. These parts wear out over time which can cause noise when printing, low-quality printouts, and even leakage inside the printer. Another thing to look into is the imaging drum; these hold the image before the toner powder is applied to the paper. Just like the toner, parts of the imaging drum also wear and tear over time.
To sum it all up, we highly encourage you to have it refilled through stores that offer refilling services instead. If you choose to purchase a new one, we at CompAndSave offer a wide variety of cheap printer toner cartridges at a much lower price without compromising their quality. Our toners are manufactured to meet or exceed the OEM specifications, which will save you from all the trouble of going through the process of refilling a toner cartridge.
Is it OK to use compatible toner cartridges?
Yes, compatible, replacement, or remanufactured toner cartridges are designed to meet or exceed the OEM specifications. This means that you can get the same print quality and number of prints without paying as much compared to the original toner cartridges. Our compatible, replacement, or remanufactured toner cartridges are also covered with 1-year 100% satisfaction guarantee, and using these types of toner cartridges will not void your printer's warranty.
