HP ENVY Photo 7975 Ink Replacement Guide

  1. Ensure the HP ENVY Photo 7975 printer is powered on.
  2. Open the cartridge access area: Lower the front panel, then lift the inner access door. Wait until the print carriage moves to the center and stops.
  3. Remove the old cartridge: Press down gently to release it, then pull it straight out of the slot.
  4. Prepare the new HP ENVY Photo 7975 ink cartridge: Take it out of the package and pull the plastic tab to remove the protective tape. Avoid touching the copper contacts or ink nozzles.
  5. Install the cartridge: Slide it into the correct slot (Tri-color on the left, Black on the right). Push forward until it clicks securely into place.
  6. Close the printer: Lower the cartridge access door, then close the outer front panel.

How do I get my HP printer to accept compatible cartridges?

Compatible, replacement or remanufactured cartridges are usually plug-and-play and don't need any changes in settings to work. But in case you encounter an issue wherein your printer will not accept it, the first thing to check is if you have purchased the correct model number of cartridge for your printer. To verify this, just check the printer's manual or the old cartridge installed in your printer and look for the model number which usually consists of alphanumeric characters. Once verified and you're still having the same issue, the next thing to do is to turn off the printer for at least 15 minutes, then wipe the copper or chip part of the cartridge with a non-abrasive towel or cloth with alcohol.
